(M has been wearing her school bag everyday…….yes, that includes weekend and evening outings)
my girl fell in love with American Girl,

and after an hour M agreed to leave empty-handed, but with the promise that I would sew her some matching clothes “exactly like the American Girl stuff”,

last night she remembered that promise,

and today I kept my word (well, not exactly).

S’s first week of grade 1 we headed to Chuck E. Cheese’s,

and had the best day,

ever.

S got lucky,

and hit the jackpot,

as did M,

hope you’re having a best day ever too!

we are very proud of this little first grader! (who was surprisingly serious this morning)

…and the school bag

here is M’s school dress pressed and ready for tomorrow….

it actually looks a lot better pressed which is why I’m posting another picture (that and it’s my first collar… if that’s not obvious)

it feels good to be back at my machine. actually it feels great.
make “shoe cream” was #3 on the list of things S wanted to do before school started

this afternoon M and I made King S. his “shoe cream”
: leggings and a dress :
(M is happiest when her leggings perfectly match her dress)

fabric : Liberty of London - Interlock knit

(Mom thinks it looks better with navy leggings)

S requested “the usual” so pattern O it was,

both in a heavy organic knit,

…..and a robot.

we’ve been enjoying this from the garden,

and these from the vine,

…and sometimes, a big brother is the best thing in the world.

Off the Grid - imagine a mobile food court, with eight fantastic food vendors, parked in your neighborhood one night every week,

we loved it,

even M, who found herself some Mac n’ Cheese Spring Rolls from 3 Sum Eats,

grab your neighbors and we’ll see you there next week!
